A Bold Vision Comes to Fruition
Great universities are built on consistent giving. As our alumni invest in Saint Joseph’s, the return is beyond measure. This President’s Report: Honor Roll 2010-11 is a tribute to our donors, and the growth and progress they bring to our University.
When we launched With Faith and Strength to Dare: The Campaign for Saint Joseph’s University just a few short years ago, we promoted a bold vision for this University’s future. We already see the realization of that vision daily on our campus and beyond.
In this Report, we share some of the very tangible academic, social and personal benefits that students and faculty at Saint Joseph’s University are enjoying because our generous donors are consistent in their support.
You’ll read about:
- Exceptional students who enrich our University because you provide scholarships
- Outstanding new faculty who bring us extraordinary knowledge and experience
- New curriculum that promotes depth of inquiry and elevates our academic standards
- Expanded spaces, facilities and resources that transform our ability to instruct and inspire
- Lives that are changed as our students and faculty serve others through the Jesuit tradition of cura personalis — care of the person
More momentous progress is on the horizon. The Post Learning Commons, a world-class 21st century learning environment, and four new athletic fields are slated for completion in spring 2012. New academic programs are planned. New faculty members are being hired. We are experiencing greater momentum than this University has ever seen. At the heart of our achievement is the consistent giving that propels Saint Joseph’s forward to become all we can be.
I’d like to thank our alumni, parents, family and friends for all that you do. Your generosity has a profound impact not only in the lives of students, but also in the world around us as their Saint Joseph’s education inspires them to be men and women with and for others.
Finally, I’d like to express my deepest appreciation for the support and inspiration Saint Joseph’s University has given to me during my tenure as Interim President. It has been my honor to serve, and is an even greater honor to welcome our new president, Rev. C. Kevin Gillespie, S.J. ’72 who will be joining us in July 2012.
With your steady commitment, the University has thrived during a time of historic transition and is poised for even greater achievement in the future.
John W. Smithson ’68, M.B.A.’82
